Our Facilities and Lettings

Our historic building

We are lucky to have a beautiful Edwardian school building which was built for the Putney community in 1908. The school was fully refurbished in 2010 meaning it is safe, warm and fit for purpose for modern school life. Our classrooms are airy and bright, with natural and neutral colours helping to bring a calm atmosphere to the school. We also have a purpose-built sports and dinner hall adjoining the school, along with our former caretaker’s cottage which has been repurposed as an additional educational space.

Sports facilities

We value PE and sport in all its forms, and have invested in high-quality spaces to support this crucial area of the curriculum. At Hotham we are lucky to have:

• A multi-purpose sports hall

• A 4G sports pitch

• A smaller hall, complete with wall bars and gymnastics equipment.

• A separate netball/tennis court

The Woodland and Allotment

We are very fortunate to have our very own small piece of nature in the heart of Putney - the Hotham Woodland. Also known as the Secret Garden, this area of the school is an oasis of calm, away from the hustle and bustle of the rest of the school. We also have our Discovery Garden which contains the school allotment and greenhouse - a lovely space for growing which is carefully tended through the year by our volunteers and Eco Team. We use both of these spaces to support our curriculum.

Our woodland area includes:

• A range of mature trees, bushes, shrubs and plants;

• The Pavilion - a full sized outdoor classroom, particularly useful when the sun isn’t shining!

• Denbuilding equipment;

• A fire pit;

• A human sundial.
